Church Window Re-dedication Weekend - 10th & 11th May 2008
Venue: Holiday Inn, Aylesbury and RAF Halton

Another good event from the 103rd entry. We all gathered at the Holiday Inn, Aylesbury, on the Saturday evening for a great social get-together.  The bar flowed well and the talking didn't stop.  There was so much to talk about and catch up on. We even had members from as far as Cyprus (Jeff Lloyd) & Australia (Tom Maxwell).  How we've all changed for those days at Halton way back in 1963!  We were also honored with the presence of Peter Ayerst - was OC 1 Sqn, 3 (A) Wing 1963 and Ernie Fox - depuy Flt Cdr 1 Sqn 2 (A) Wing - 1964 / 65.  Peter was also signing his biography book 'Spirit of the Blue' by Hugh Thomas (Peter Ayerst - A Fighter Pilot's Story); Sutton Puiblishing; paperback.

Sunday couldn't have been better from the weather point of view - the sun shone all day long.  We all met at RAF Halton for a visit to Halton House. This was followed by a short re-dedication service of the Entry window at St. George's Church with a wreath laying at the ‘The Tribute' for Entry members no longer with us.  It was good to see family and relatives laying their own wreaths to their lost ones.  The 'Golden Oldies' were with us for the day and it was very fitting to hear the pipes & drums playing during the wreath laying.  Lunch then followed in Henderson Mess, 1 Wing, (2 Wing mess is no longer in use) with the 'Golden Oldies' giving us a rendition of many of the tunes which were so familiar to us.  Then after lunch marching onto the parade square for their final dismiss.  The museum (the old gym on the parade square) was then open for us to have a look around - that was very reminiscing, before we all departed looking forward to the next entry get together.

There is a great selection of photographs from the weekend. They are split into four galleries to make them eaiser to see.
