This page lets you know about the 103rd Entry Association and all its relevant aspects.
See the associated links to keep yourself up to date.

For those members of the Entry who are not aware, we do have an Entry Association, which was formed on 16th June 1990.  The aim of the Association (see the Constitution for details) is to try to get in touch with as many members of the original entry as possible and to hold a reunion every 5 years.  So far we have had three reunions, 1990, 1995 and 2000.  There is a committee that meets 2 or 3 times a year at various locations, usually one of the committee members house. Why not join us!

At the Entry Association Committee meeting (10th December2011) voting took place and the Committee Members are now:

Honorary Life President:

Les Shardlow
Chairman:

Barry Neal
Deputy Chairman:

Ken Bannister
Secretary:

Les Garden
Treasurer:

Mick Woodhouse
Members:

Chris Wales (Website )
Brian Lee (Newsletter Editor)
Malcolm Watts
David Post
Usually between 4 and 6 of us make it to a meeting now usually held at one of the committee members' house. The main agenda item seems to be a general chat about what we would like to do or organise, followed by an all day breakfast at a local pub. The minutes of the meeting are taken and distributed by Les Garden.  We have about 60 members in the association at present and are always looking to increase the numbers. Are you a member? Why not join now.
If you have not had any contact with the Association and want to get in touch, just mail me at entryinfo@103rd-entry.org.uk and I'll make sure your request gets passed on to the relevant person.

While not free, the membership fee for the Association is £10 per year, ably looked after by Mick Woodhouse as Treasurer.  This helps to subsidise reunions and put money behind the bar to keep the beer flowing. Also to help with the cost associated with running the newsletter.   A sadder use of funds has been to buy wreaths, on behalf of the Entry,  for the funerals of our In Memoriam members. Money was also put towards the Entry Window in St. George's Church, Halton.

We have an Entry Newsletter that comes out once or maybe twice a year, and is now produced by Brian Lee who has taken it over from Chris Wales. (See committee meeting minutes Nov 2008.)   Brian is always looking for contributions to help fill the newsletter. Just send him any topic that could be used. It doesn't have to be entry related, something amusing, a photo, something that you want to sell or let, etc. etc. All contributions are very gratefully received.  Quite a few people have written in giving a potted history of what happened to them after leaving the tender clutches of the Halton drill sergeants.   All contributions gratefully received. Just email him at newsletter@103rd-entry.org.uk.

The newsletters are now added to the site.  Also,  minutes of Committee metings, and financial statements will be regular items.  It would save the Association some money on postage if those with access to the site would be happy not to receive newsletters through the post.
If you are happy to do that, please let Brian know again at newsletter@103rd-entry.org.uk.
